Throughout these first two years we look to embed core skills, knowledge of rules and tactics for a variety of sports covering a wide range of activities including games, aesthetic, and fitness based lessons.
Years 9 to 11
From Year 9 all students will continue to have a core PE lesson each week which will focus on continuing participation and offering a variety of activities that pupils may not have experienced in the past.Students also have the option to choose GCSE PE or Sport Studies.
Exams for GCSE PE and Sports studies will take place during year 11. Sports Studies comprises of 3 coursework units and 1 examined unit.
Years 12 and 13
We offer Level 3 Sports Studies in the sixth form and follow the OCR Cambridge Technical syllabus. Due to the demands of the subject, we recommend that students achieve at least a Grade C in GCSE PE if they would like to continue the subject at this level.
