A message from Patrick Ness
Patrick Ness is one of the leading teenage authors in the world. In the English department, the Yr7 students studied one of his books, A Monster Calls, as part of their curriculum. They enjoyed the book so much it resulted in the English department organising an over subscribed theatre trip and movie night (before lock down happened) to show the book in different styles to enforce understanding and comparisons of how text can be translated.
Getting in touch personally with Patrick Ness during lockdown and showing him examples of students work, impressed him so much, he sent our students a video message from his home in America.
