Coronavirus Advice & Guidance

The health and welfare of our pupils and staff is a priority and as we have received some questions about coronavirus, we felt it would be useful to issue this information letter.

The College is closely following advice and guidance from Public Health England and the College will remain open and operating as normal. If your child is well they should continue to attend as usual. Should this situation change in the future you will be notified accordingly.

The latest accurate information on coronavirus (COVID-19), including the current situation in the UK and details about the virus and its symptoms, can be found at here:

NHS

The website is updated when new information is available.

The risk to individuals in the UK remains low. The current national guidance is that if you have arrived to the UK from mainland China, Thailand, Japan, Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Northern Italy, or Macau within the last 14 days, and are experiencing cough or fever or shortness of breath (even if the symptoms are mild) you should:

  • Stay indoors and avoid contact with others as you would with the flu (do not go to your GP or hospital)
  • Call NHS 111 to inform them of your recent travel to the country

If you have travelled from Wuhan or Hubei Province to the UK in the last 14 days you should immediately:

  • Stay indoors and avoid contact with other people as you would with the flu (do not go to your GP or hospital)
  • Call NHS 111 to inform them of your recent travel to the area

Follow this advice even if you do not have symptoms of the virus. The Government and NHS are well prepared to deal with this virus. To help protect yourself and others they advise you to:

  • Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze.
  • Bin the tissue and, to kill the germs, wash your hands with soap and water, or if that’s not available use a sanitiser gel.

This is the best way to slow the spread of almost any germs, including coronavirus.

If you believe you are at risk then please contact NHS 111 for advice.

Yours faithfully,
Mr. S Smith
Headteacher
