Careers - Employer Work Experience Opportunities
Thales are running a Work Experience Programme in February half term, please see details below:
What is it?
This is a five-day Work Experience opportunity to gain an invaluable insight into the working life at Thales. In the week you will gain exposure to the Thales engineering lifecycles, taking into account requirements capture, customer meetings, concept design, technical design, build and informal testing before pitching your product to the customer.
Who is it for?
This programme is exclusive to students in year 11, 12 and 13 who are:
- Enthusiastic about taking on new challenges
- Logical in their approach to problem solving
- Proactive with a “can-do” mentality
What to expect?
From your week at Thales you will gain exposure to the below areas:
Engineering: gain knowledge of the engineering lifecycles and what’s it’s like to be a Software, Hardware, and Systems Engineer.
Manufacturing: create your own electronic device, using soldering irons on the shop floor in our manufacturing facility.
Business: develop skills from our employees about project management, pitching to customers and budgeting during your project.
The week will run 12th February to the 16th February 2018.
The application deadline is 10th January 2018.
How to apply?
If you are a student:
Nestle are offering paid work experience that will take place in August 2018. Students will spend a week working in one of our business functions meeting staff and getting to know how we do things at Nestlé. We are looking for enthusiastic students eager to learn more about life at Nestlé.
If students are interested they need to complete the application form. Applications will close 5th January 2018. If successful, you will be asked to our second stage which will be another workshop at our Gatwick or York offices on the 15th March (Gatwick Office) or 22nd March 2018 (York Office).
