On Monday 19th June 34 pupils set off from Thomas Bennett to compete in the annual #TKAT Games Athletics competition which was held this year at the Allianz Stadium in North London. Everyone was excited for what the day would hold ahead of us and we didn’t let the blistering heat prevent us from performing to our best abilities. We went with the mind set that we were going to do our best and through our pupils determination and resilience we scooped 5 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 6 bronze medals!

The gold medal winners were: Megan Haynes in the Year 8 shot putt, Jette Tabot in the Year 9 shot putt, Ethan Cummings in the Year 9 javelin, Kieron Ashley in the Year 10 javelin, Hans Narainen in the Year 8 long jump.

The silver medal winners were: Mama Camera in the Year 10 high jump, Mia Mcqueenie in Year 9 Long Jump, Jake Yule in the Year 7 discus, Daniel Lambert in the Year 7 100 M, Danai Murrell in the Year 8 100 M, Aaron Yule in the Year 7 200 M.

The pupils also had the opportunity to have their picture taken with the Rugby European cup which was a fantastic opportunity. All of our athletes were model students at the games and it was a pleasure to spend the day with such amazing individuals.
